Welcome to the AIS family.

Dharma Ramsahai

My name is Dharma Ramsahai, and I am the Dutch teacher at Amstelland International School.

I am originally from Suriname, located in South America, with roots tracing back to India. My family and I relocated to the Netherlands when I was 11 years old.

I completed my primary education teacher training at PABO in Eindhoven. I have been working in primary education in Leiden for over thirty years and have taught students of all grades.

Last year, I worked as a Dutch teacher at Amstelland International School for two days a week, specifically on Thursdays and Fridays. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to join the school full-time.

When I’m not working, I like to spend time with friends and family. I enjoy visiting the forest, beach, or exploring new places. I have two children, a daughter who is almost 22, and a 19-year-old son.

Christina Havenga

My name is Christina Havenga and I come from Johannesburg, South Africa.

I have ten years of teaching experience and in three of those years I served as a Head of the Department. I have taught many different ages and subjects, but my favorite remains Mathematics. I love working with children and aim to create a safe and enjoyable learning environment for them.

I believe every child is special and unique, deserving of respect and encouragement to reach their full potential.

Having only been in the Netherlands for nine months now, I am excited to call this country my new home and I look forward to what the future holds.

I am looking forward to joining the AIS Team as a Teaching Assistant and learning alongside our current educational team.
